Pelvic Medicine
He holds MBBS (Hons), FRCA, FFPMRCA and a PhD in Neurosciences (Pain), awarded in 2012 by the Wolfson Institute for Biomedical Research, University College London. He trained in anaesthesia across King’s College London, University College London, Chase Farm and Barnet, and the Royal Free Hospitals. He completed an Advanced Pain Medicine Fellowship at Imperial College London and has held consultant appointments at Chelsea and Westminster, Hillingdon, and The Royal Marsden Hospitals.
His pelvic pain practice centres on complex case assessment, including patients with chronic pelvic pain that remains unexplained after initial investigations, overlapping pelvic and spinal pain presentations, neuropathic pelvic pain, and persistent post-surgical or post-treatment pelvic pain. He provides structured second opinions and comprehensive assessments that integrate pain mechanisms, functional impact, prior treatment response, and coexisting musculoskeletal and neuropathic contributors.
He undertook further sub-specialty training attachments at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in advanced neuromodulation and at Cleveland Clinic, USA in interventional headache management. He is currently Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and University College Hospital.
His research interests include pain channelopathies, painful peripheral neuropathies, the genetics of chronic pain, personalised analgesia, and the use of ketamine as an analgesic drug, with direct relevance to selected refractory pelvic pain presentations.
